But the addition of muscle cars and high-end tuners really alter the normal feel that's common in the NFS series. Sure, it's still an accessible arcade game in which cars don't take any damage it's still Need for Speed. Hot girls aside (and let's just be honest here, they're all great looking women), the game drives differently than before. The boss races in the canyons are neither great nor horrible, they just are. Meanwhile Josie Maran had far more fun and showed far more skin in her role in Most Wanted. Clearly Emmanuelle Vaugier needs a little more direction and some more meat to reach her potential. The novelty of the specialized FMV cutscenes is still moderately entertaining, but because of EA's excesses it comes across as strained, and there are simply too many dudes with perfect eyebrows and mullets for my tastes. This year's narrative is watered down, with more forced mystery behind a rather simple premise. You had to seek revenge and it felt good because he was a no-good bully. Razor was your enemy, he was a first-class dick, and he rigged your car. Because of the addition of crews or because EA wanted to go even heavier into its presentation (which it often does at the expense of improving gameplay), the game is filled with cutscenes and pasty, well-coiffed well-dressed gearheads. The Career mode follows last year's trippy FMV-based narrative. It enables from 1-8 players to vie online on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, whereas the Xbox, PS2 and GameCube versions don't offer online compatibility. One of the bigger additions is the online functionality. The four new features offered in Carbon comprise a crew, a unique autosculpt customization, drifting races and additional car classes. Players can pick from three different car classes, exotics, tuners, and muscles (the muscles being the new addition), which broadens the game's middle-of-the-road feel in a smart, controlled manner. The Career mode is the meat and potatoes of the game, comprising a city split into four territories plus hilly canyon races outside the city. It provides four camera perspectives (two in-car, two over-the-shoulder), a 10-14 hour single-player campaign, and a series of mini-challenges based on collecting racing cards. Near Carbon Copy Carbon is an arcade-style racer that plays, in general, a lot like other Need for Speed games.

Apply the dressing to the skin by making sure the foam extends at least two centimeters from the wound bed.Managing leg and foot ulcers and pressure ulcers.Treating acute surgical wounds, traumatic wounds and partial thickness burns. This post-operative dressing is ideal for: This aspect reduces the potential for maceration and surgical site infections and requires fewer changes. Greater Absorbency: Mepilex® Border Ag dressings hold onto more exudate than other post-op dressings without leaking. This aspect further reduces the risk of skin irritation and allergic reaction and closes off the wound to exterior moisture, bacteria and other pathogens. Self-Adherent Construction with Safetac® Technology: Mepilex® Border Ag does not require a secondary dressing to remain in place, won’t cause trauma to the patient’s skin upon removal and lessens the incidence of pain. Reduces Microorganisms: Not only does this create an ideal healing environment for the wound, but this aspect further helps with reducing odor. Can be cut to suit various wound sizes and difficult-to-dress areas. Excellent conformability for better patient comfort and dressing fit. Inactivates a broad range of pathogens, including MRSA. Supported by vitro testing, Mepilex® Border Ag dressings kill 99.9% of several types of bacteria. Inactivates wound pathogens within 30 minutes and for up to seven days. This starts to inactivate pathogens within 30 minutes from application and continues to protect the wound for up to seven days. Inactivates Wound Pathogens: Upon application, the Mepilex® Border Ag dressing provides a sustained release of silver sulphate particles. This action prevents exudate from leaking from the dressing onto the surrounding skin, lessens the risk of irritation and maceration, and reduces damage to the wound and surrounding skin during removal. Releasing silver sulphate particles, this antimicrobial foam dressing utilizes Safetac® technology to close off the wound’s edges. Mepilex® Border Ag Foam Dressings provide an all-in-one solution for absorbing and holding onto exudate and creating a moist environment for optimal wound healing. Time is also taken to make sure that the baby is swallowing, breathing and moving normally. It determines the lie or presentation of the baby (breech, transverse or cephalic), it provides us with information about the placenta location and appearance, it establishes an estimated fetal weight, it examines the umbilical cord Doppler flow to determine whether the placenta is functioning as it should, it calculates the amniotic fluid volume around the baby and it allows for the sonographer to check the standard fetal measurements. Patient’s should be cautious of utilising services who only offer 4d scans without a fetal well-being check.Ī 2D ultrasound scan is the best method of providing a full well being fetal assessment. This is why it is paramount that these scans be done with a well-being component. A 3D/4D scan only provides a detailed high definition still picture/motion picture but doesn’t provide any further information about the well being of the baby.įetal abnormalities are best detected with 2D (black and white) ultrasound. It will not detect any abnormalities or problems that your baby may have. What’s Important to know about a 3D/4D ultrasound?Ī 3D/4D ultrasound provides no clinical benefit. A 3D/4D scan will not be able to pick up on abnormalities that a 2D scan can. It’s important to note that if you do get a 3D/4D scan that it includes a full fetal wellbeing scan as well. 3D/4D scans are great for when parents want to meet their baby for the first time before they are born. There are no requirements when pregnant to get a 3D/4D scan. They send multiple waves at different angles but instead of capturing a still image they give you a real time 3 dimensional moving image. 4D scans operate the same way as 3D Scans. 3D scans allow sonographers to capture more details of the baby’s aesthetic features and give parents and peak as to what their baby will look when born. You may see the shape of your baby’s mouth and nose, or be able to spot them yawning or sticking their tongue out.ģD and 4D scans are considered as safe as 2D scans, because the images are made up of sections of two-dimensional images converted into a picture.ģD scans send waves from lots of different angles to help create a high definition picture of your baby whereas a 2d scan will only send waves from one angle and create a black and white still images. With 3D and 4D scans, you see your baby’s skin rather than their insides which is normally carried out in a 2D scan. How is a 3D/4D scan different to any other scan? If patients are wanting a very thorough check of the fetal organs then they should actually opt for the “ detailed anomaly scan” instead which is performed 18-24 weeks – this is in 2D only. 3D/4D scans are completely optional for pregnant women and are really just an extra bonus to get to meet your baby a little earlier. A 3D/4D scan provides high definition images of your baby’s facial features and shape in both still images and moving images. To determine the gender of the fetus if requestedģD/4D Scans are carried out for those who wish to see detailed images of their baby as opposed to the traditional 2D black and white images we’re all used to.To identify and measure fetal heart rate.To establish a current estimated fetal weight. To determine the presentation/lie of the baby. We perform all our 3D/4D scans using the latest GE Healthcare equipment – global leader in obstetric ultrasound technology. Time is taken to capture 3D baby scan images and 4D video clips – the fourth dimension is the moving part. 3D/4D ultrasounds give you a unique opportunity to bond with your baby like never before. This is now possible through 4D and 3D ultrasound technology. Many future parents want to meet their baby as soon as possible and bond with them. Competitors like the Clarity, Prius Prime, and Ioniq Plug-in Hybrid all have larger cargo areas, with Hyundai’s option being the most spacious, offering 23 cubic feet of cargo volume.ĭespite having a plug-in hybrid powertrain, the Volt handles and drives like a regular vehicle. It’s the same case for cargo capacity, as the Volt only has 10.6 cubic feet of cargo volume. Even for those that end up getting the ability to sit in one of the full seats, the back is a cramped place to be. Because of the lengthy positioning of the battery tunnel and the rear set of cupholders, the passenger that draws the short straw and gets stuck sitting in the middle is in for a rough time. Where things start to go amiss for the Volt is when it comes to space in the back and cargo capacity. The new addition of a driver-switchable adaptive cruise control system that provides the option of choosing whether the Volt follows a car or operates in a conventional manner, is also something that makes it easier to cover miles. The front seats are also comfortable and the new addition of a power driver’s seat with the available power convenience package, a first for the Volt (the seat is standard on the Premier trim), helps you get into a comfortable position for the long haul. While the center stack may appear confusing at first, the buttons are logically placed and, within 30 minutes of driving, finding where the button to turn the heated seats off is second nature – hey, the first day of fall may have just passed, but it already felt chilly in Vermont. Without going overboard to sound like we’re embellishing, the screen’s pretty, easy to use, well sized, and responsive. The silver trim that follows the curvature of the dashboard and the blue design element on the shift knob are especially garish. While hard plastics and low-end materials are hidden out of sight for the most part, the buttons and switches feel cheap. Chevrolet’s designers took a more regular, car-like approach to the cabin that puts functionality before style and comfort. Interior and techĪ lot of automakers have decided to take a more creative approach to the interior design of their plug-in hybrids – the vehicles are, after all, futuristic compared to vehicles that are solely powered by a combustion engine. All of the aforementioned competitors, besides the Niro, which is more of a crossover, are likely options to be cross-shopped against the Volt as they offer a practical hatch. They can also be plugged into an electric charger. Just like the Volt, these competitors can travel on both electricity and gasoline. The plug-in hybrid segment continues to expand and the Volt now faces competition from the Toyota Prius Prime, Hyundai Ioniq Plug-in Hybrid, Kia Niro, and Honda Clarity. If you want more luxury with your efficiency, there’s also the Volt Premier that starts at $38,995 and that comes with the 7.2-kW charger as standard. Pricing for our well-equipped LT trim tipped the scale at $37,990. The tester we piloted in Vermont was an entry-level LT trim finished in the optional shade of cajun red tincoat ($395) and came with the power convenience package ($1,660), the LT driver confidence package ($790), and the 7.2-kW charger ($750). I’ve taken care of the former by replacing Dataflex Common Data Service with Dataverse in the title. Why? Because historically Power Platform is renowned for two traits: renaming things and changing behaviors of those things. Try and visit Peter’s Pool on a nice sunny (and not very windy) day – you can’t beat that view! It’ll only take 15-minutes or so but the view you get at the end is one of the best on the West Coast. The short walk to Peters Pool is ideal for kids or anyone else who’s a bit low on energy. You’ll see the valley surrounded by lush green trees, and if you visit at the right time in summer you’ll see bright red Rata lighting up the forest. Sentinel Rock is a short detour (5-mins or so) from the main Franz Josef Glacier Walk track and it’s one of our favourite viewpoints in New Zealand. Hopefully it opens back up sometime soon – it’s one of our favourite mid-range walks in New Zealand (it usually takes around 90-minutes). When it’s open, it then takes you all the way down the valley to a much closer viewpoint, but last time we visited that whole section was closed. The Franz Josef Glacier Walk leads to a viewpoint where you can see the glacier in the distance. This is the walk in Franz Josef that pretty much everyone does, and for good reason.
